The Radio Chamber Orchestra Season
Wednesday, 12 May 2010 , 19.00

This evening’s première: Mrs. Felicia Donceanu (photo), well-known for her contribution to the Romanian choral genre, has prepared a new work, a vocal-symphonic one this time, Necklaces, a monodrama for soprano and chamber orchestra. Based on poems by Șerban Codrin, Mihai Eminescu, George Bacovia or Lucian Blaga and performed by soprano Iulia Dan, the work is about alternating seasons, these ‘necklaces’ bound together by the philosophical lines ‘time passes, time comes’.

Joseph Haydn's Cello and Orchestra Concerto No.2 in D major will have Răzvan Suma as soloist - a member of ‘Romanian Piano Trio’ - the new soloist-concertist of the Radio Orchestras and Choirs, and, to round up the evening, the Radio Chamber Orchestra and its conductor, Tiberiu Soare, propose a concerto from Luigi Cherubini’s work, known more as an opera and religious music composer: the Symphony in D major.

The performance is to take place at the ‘Mihail Jora’ Concert Hall starting from 19.00 and broadcast live on Radio Romania Music.
