The Radio Chamber Orchestra and conductor Horia Andreescu are performing today an absolute première dedicated to themselves: George Balint composed the musical piece ‘Telos – In memoriam Ştefan Niculescu’ at maestro Andreescu’s request especially for the instrumetal formula of this ensemble. The interview with the composer will give you the opportunity to find out more about the ‘meaning’ or the ‘purpose’ – the ‘telos’– of this music.

For the same evening we have a special guest, a Romanian personality whose performances brought her international fame, a young pianist who has performed under the baton of conductors such as Sir Colin Davis, Paarvo Järvi, Sir Neville Marriner: Mihaela Ursuleasa whom you can listen to during the Piano and Orchestra Concerto No. 3 in C minor Op. 37 by Ludwig van Beethoven.

The programme will close with Symphony No. 103 in E-flat major, ‘The Drumroll’ by Joseph Haydn – a program broadcast live on Radio Romania Music, starting ,as usual, at 19:00.
