We again have the pleasure of meeting a wonderful album by Brazilian guitarist Chico Pinheiro, specializing in refined alloys between post-bop sounds and native intuition, perfected on "City of Dreams", recorded with his team of pianist Tiago Costa, bassist Bruno Migotto and drummer Edu Ribeiro, and with the special guest, the saxophonist Chris Potter, who perfectly applies to Pinheiro's guitar vocal exposures. A duet that draws attention to each piece, as does the relationship between piano and guitar. Moreover, the whole album is an ideal medium for instrumental dialogues, on bright orchestrated forms, supported by a rhythmic section with the same binder. States are produced by fluent lines that meet and communicate through emotion and timbre. Chico Pinheiro has been active in several formulas, but on "City of Dreams" has reached a peak of group cohesion, in which modern musical ideas are flexibly mixed with the Brazilian tradition.
