Enrico Pieranunzi & Bert Joris - 'Afterglow' album- Jazzy hour, March 16th, 2021

Enrico Pieranunzi is one of the greatest pianists that Italy has given, being one of those great communicators of sensibility, who maintains a perfect balance between lyricism and virtuosity, between creativity and relationship with other musicians. After almost 70 albums on which he performed, being very active through those difficult times, Pieranunzi offers us in 2021 two duet albums, two remarkable collaborations with musicians of the same level of artistic depth. The first is "Afterglow", an album that embraces you as a force of nature, draws you into a natural phenomenon that reveals right in front of you.

Nothing matters anymore, that's what you say when you listen to such a record. It is just you and the musical synergy of two personalities who put both the mind and the heart in every detail of their intimate conversation.. The moments when he does not sing add the value of the moments when he sings, this is how the Italian pianist Enrico Pieranunzi and the Belgian trumpeter Bert Joris define their fusion. The combined experience shines, space/the pause between the two is an essential component of their relationship. All the songs are created within this close connection that streams artistic affection, in a candid mutual listening. Beyond this set of wonderfully connected songs, "Afterglow" is an album about empathy, about human quality.
