Lee Pardini - album 'Homebodies' - Jazzy hour, April 6th, 2021

In the second part we have another example of production marked by style. The impeccable sound quality and the keyboard expression of a modern uni sound, accumulating many years of diverse musical experiences. Lee Pardini graduated from the Manhattan School of Music in 2007 with a degree in jazz but entered the larger world of music through the band Dawes in 2016, with which he released some very good albums. The musical quality of the group has increased considerably since the arrival of Pardini. He also collaborated with Roger Waters, Elvis Costello or Theo Katzman but only in 2021 he debuted under his own name with a jazz album, a jazz of the present, illustrating current events, detached from swing but consistent in moments of good intuition, diverse in keyboard, rich melodic and complemented by electronics. "Homebodies" contains original songs, based on a solid, well-arranged groove and a band of good improvisers. The title could describe those people who prefer the peace and quiet of their homes, with a natural resistance to social norms and pressures, looking for the feeling of "home", the place where you feel good in your skin and recharge your batteries. The music on "Homebodies" makes us feel at home, gives us security, comfort, we enjoy quality and freshness. Lee Pardini shares his musical environment, giving us the intimacy of a repertoire that reflects ten years of ideas and experiences giving senses to the world in which he lives. A personal endeavor to find a personal voice, the comfort of existence as an artist. In addition to the rhythmic basis, the album tends to extend the definition of jazz, to go beyond the ideas conceived through one of the purest forms of expression, improvisation. The new music is at her house, and we have nothing to do but feel good listening to it.
