While some of us see and especially hear pandemic times with pessimism, other find resources to continue doing what they like most. It's true, the whole world is stuck, almost the entire business turned upside down, jazz is having a really rough time like all other genres, the predominantly dark overview is explainable, but despite everything, there are musicians who insist on encouraging us by playing their music at the same level to which we got accustomed.

Vibraphonist Behn Gillece is one of the virtuous youth who focused his qualities in a project with an exceptional evolution as a quartet. The other band members are pianist Art Hirahara, bass player Boris Kozlov and drummer Rudy Royston. From the first bar to the last accent, the repertoire stays coherent in terms of songs, with lyrical elegance and very suggestive in the light of modern jazz overtopped by swing. The successful combination of acquired talent and the quality of the original songwriting makes "Still Doing our Thing", album released in 2021, a collection rich in great musical moments, offering us intense delight.
