Isfar Sarabski: album 'Planet', Jazzy Hour, September 2nd 2021

Let's stick with the piano and listen to Azeri composer and arranger Isfar Sarabski, also presenting his art in a trio on his album titled "Planet", a cumulation of refinement and inspiration very rarely seen in the contemporary musical world, so full of flawless productions, yet without a sign of emotion. What draws our attention to this album of a trio, enriched by a string orchestra on a few pieces, is the smart mix between emotion, energy, and the technique being directly proportional to the experience. Sarabski entered the jazz world after thorough training in the classics, and influenced by the tradition of his home country, which helped him create the subtle connections between jazz, mugham and classical piano. The audio unity, so refinedly expressed, is another reason to enjoy this album. Three influences meshed together in an arrangement so flawlessly proportioned, elegantly taken on by the right musicians. This could be one of the definitions for an exceptional album produced in 2021.
