Aged 67, with years' worth of diverse and magnificent discography, he starts a collaboration project with young and fabulous musicians that fit his musical vision. He adds to the trio formula the keyboard playerJames Franciesas well as a few drummers, depending on the variant, taking the Gary Burton method, which in the early 70s gave Metheny the chance to view it in the light of his experience. The concert recorded in New York features Marcus Gilmore as a drummer and consists of mostly new tracks, plus some classic titles from the guitarist's repertoire, such as "Bright Size Life".
