The harpist AnaëlleTourret- the album called „Perspectives”- CD Review, 18th of February, 2022
With a refined and romantic sound, sound effects and rich timbre colours, the harp has played a proeminent role among poly phonic instruments over time. Over the past century, the harp has been reinvented, adapting to new compositional techniques. The album I am presenting on Radio România Muzical tried to capture the evolution of 20th-century creations for harp, including four major works of the twentieth century, written in different styles by composers from four countries - France, Germany, England and Switzerland. These are Andre Caplet, Paul Hindemith, Benjamin Britten and Heinz Holliger. And the singer who recorded these songs is AnaëlleTourret, a talented 29-year-old French musician, who was named principal harpist of the NDR Elb Philharmonie Orchestra in Hamburg back in 2018. Her debut album is entitled "Perspectives" and was recorded at the "Friedrich Ebert" Hall in Hamburg, being released on December 17th, 2021.
Annaelle Tourret, born in 1992 in Orleans, is one of the most valuable harpists of the moment. In 2015 she won the International Harp Competition in Israel and has since performed as a soloist with top ensembles such as the WDR Orchestra in Cologne, the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra and the Radio France Philharmonic, collaborating with the conductors Esa Pekka Salonen, Paavo Jarvi and Marek Janowski. She is currently an assistant to harpist Xavier de Maistre at the Hochschule für Musik in Hamburg, having previously studied with the famous musician. With a delicate and charming presence, Anaelle Tourrethas won over the public and critics in recent times. Violinist Joshua Bell, with whom she collaborated on a tour, says that "she is one of the best harp performers he has ever heard, being very, very special." Under these conditions, the musician's debut album was eagerly awaited by her fans. And the harpist's performance exceeds all expectations, being a high-quality artistic product. Her technique is impeccable, the interpretation - sensitive and captivating.
