The year that marked the centenary of Astor Piazzolla's birth saw the launch of various recording projects celebrating the Argentine musician. Among the most acclaimed albums in this series is that of pianist Natalia González Figueroa, a 43-year-old musician and professor at the National University of Arts in Buenos Aires dedicated to promoting the Argentine repertoire. Her recent album was released on the 12^th of November 2021 and includes previously unreleased, lesser-known pieces from Astor Piazzolla's work - two suites, a sonata and preludes - works that, perhaps having a more erudite, elaborate or academic style, have not achieved the fame of other scores by the renowned Mar del Plata-born composer.

Pianist Natalia González Figueroa, born in 1979, studied at the Buenos Aires Conservatory, then continued her studies in Spain and at the Santa Cecilia National Academy in Rome, then in London and again in her home city, where she is currently a professor. She has performed concerts and recitals in important halls in South America and Europe, covering a wide range of repertoire, from Baroque to contemporary music, with a particular emphasis on Argentinean creation. Natalia González Figueroa has released eight albums to date, the most recent being a disc dedicated solely to Astor Piazzolla's music.
