Rachael & Vilray is a duo that began producing musical beauty many years after they first met. Rachael Price is one of the best voices in pop music, without a doubt you can hear her on the Lake Street Dive albums. Vilray Bolles a is a New York-based songwriter and guitarist with a classical jazz sensibility. The two absorb the tradition of their predecessors, taking the best of the past with the intention of creating something new. Their second album, "I Love A Love Song!", clearly shows an evolution towards polishing the songs and the duet relationship. The original tracks are enriched with Jacob Zimmerman's signature orchestrations and a much better production, where the space used, the microphones and all the acoustic details were perfectly matched to the musical intention. The two seem to have been playing together for decades, so do the tracks seem impeccably fitted in style, and the repertoire elicits a relaxed, feel-good mood with immediate effect. Nor could it be otherwise when you have a voice like Rachael Price, a guitarist who composes and accompanies so elegantly, a sound engineer like Dan Knobler, and musicians like Joe LaBarbera and Larry Goldings. A superb album that has only one problem: it's too short.
