Johanna Summer –„Resonanzen”

At the beginning of 2020, pianist Johanna Summer astonished and charmed the european music world with her magnificent debut "Schumann Kaleidoskop". The improvisation based on "Kinderszenen" have attracted admiration from her fellow musicians activating in different musical fields. Among those is Igor Levit Kowalski and Joachim Kuhn. In 2023 "Rezonanzen" is launched, a piano album that extends the imaginative approach over more composers. Each piece bears the name of the composer who receives this modern and surprising approach through the atmosphere it creates. Johanna Summer is a ballanced person without inhibitions and she follows the music with no reservations. She masterfully controls the pieces and with perfect intonation. An artist who was taught in a classical manner expresses themselves freely, converting the canon into something personal, without jeopardizing tradion. She blends the musical influences into something with no categorization, into an atmosphere which is rarely heard when you look at a human and a piano. "Rezonanzez" extends the arts of interpretation and delves into the domain in which classical music is re-told. Johanna Summer has not chosen the easiest path, she made her debut with a solo piano and she developed an intention that involves two very demanding fields. That makes her achievement absolutely remarkable. Her fluent serenity, the lack of any tension can only delight and surpise. Each time we assume what is going to happen next, another such surpise arises.
