La Rêveuseis anensemble made up of violinists Florence Bolton and Emily Audouin, harpsichord player Carsten Lohff and guitarist and theorbo player Benjamin Perrot, renowned in the world ofbaroque musicfor the consistency of its members' performance and the stringency with which they devote themselves to musicologist research. The French ensemble, owing its name to Marin Marais and his work,"La Rêveuse" (The Dreamer), has released so far two albums dedicated to this illustrious French composer, but also other albums comprising works by composers from the Baroque era, such as Dietrich Buxtehude, Georg Friedrich Händel, Henry Purcell or Georg Philipp Telemann.

The latest album, released byHarmonia Mundi record company on August 30th, 2024, also includes music pieces from Marin Marais's works (1656-1728), a musician who had an important role at the royal court of Versailles and a crucial influence on the development of the pre-Classical French style. For the new album, La Rêveuses elected pieces from the second collection for viols published in 1701 by Marin Marais, but also sheet music by composers who inspired him - his friend, Robert de Visée, and Monsieur de Saint-Colombe, who was his teacher.

La Rêveuse, founded 20 years ago, consists of instrumentalists who passionately explorethe music of the 17th and 18th centuries, a dense and rich era in terms of experiments and artistic innovations. The band frequently gives concerts on the great stages of France, but also in cultural venues in Great Britain, The Netherlands, Japan and the United States of America. Furthermore, the ensemble's effervescent discographic activity was rewarded with Pizzicato, Gramophone Editor's Choice and Choc Classica prizes.
