Violinist Silvan Dezini and the Ostinato Ensemble. CD Review, February 13th

The main character of this album is the young violinist Silvan Dezini, a musician who plays a Milanese Grancino instrument built in the 17th century. It can be admired the sound of this precious violin by listening to the disc recorded in June 2024 at the Musikinsel center in Rheinau, Switzerland, by Silvan Dezini together with the Ostinato string ensemble.

Released by Claves Records in Switzerland, the disc has the celebrated violin concertos The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi, published in 1725 in Amsterdam, as well as works inspired by these Baroque masterpieces contemporary scores by the Swiss composer Fabian Müller.

Violinist Silvan Dezini has won numerous prizes in international competitions. He studied violin with Ana Chumachenko and Ingolf Turban, graduated from the Faculty of Music at the Zurich University of the Arts, and is currently pursuing a master's degree at the Bern University of the Arts. He has collaborated with the Bavarian Philharmonic, the Franz Schmidt Chamber Orchestra, and the Ostinato ensemble. He is the artistic director of the concerts performed in the canton of Aargau, Switzerland, by the Ostinato orchestra, a Baroque music ensemble founded in 2015 by the violinist Timoti Fregni.
