Clarinetist Raphaël Sévère and pianist Adam Laloum, “Sing! Songs without words”. CD Review, February 25th, 2026

Premiere album, released on the 7th of November 2025

In an interview given on the occasion of the release of his new album, the French clarinetist Raphaël Sévère said: The clarinet repertoire is very beautiful and extremely interesting, but it's also somewhat limited. We only have around fifty pieces to work with, which is very frustrating. So I have often felt the need to look elsewhere. At first, I satisfied my desire for more optionsby drawing inspiration from the musicof Robert Schumann, a composer who was very open to the idea of instrumental transcription and who never hesitated to adapt his own works for various instruments. Raphaël Sévèreexplains that he created clarinettranscriptions of severallieder by Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms and Richard Wagner, including them on his album recorded together with the French pianist Adam Laloum and released on the 7th of November.
