Ionel Perlea - is the name of the most recent album, which was published by the Casa Radio Publishing House, in the Radio Legends - historical recordings from the sound archives of Radio Romania series, album which gives back precious moments from the complex portrait of the man considered 'a knight of the spirit, an artist of an impeccable ethical behaviour, who had always dared to fly to the highest horizons'. (Eugen Pricope)

A conductor with international fame, recognized in every specialized encyclopedia, Ionel Perlea leftan important inheritance and musical creation, dominated by the romantic spirit, especially the German one, because, it is known the fact that he pursued his musical studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich and at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University of Music and Theatre in Leipzig. As Silvestri, Lipatti or Rogalski, Ionel Perlea composed little, being absorbed in the interpretive activity. His lieder (interpreted by the soprano Georgeta Stoleriu and pianist Martha Joja), as the Don Quixote' symphonic scherzo (in the interpretation of the National Radio Orchestra and of the conductor Paul Popescu) give the dimension of an authentic and very inspired creator.

The concerts Ionel Perlea conducted in Bucharest, in 1969, where from the present CD contains the Prelude to the Tristan und Isolde opera and by Richard Wagner (accompanied by the National Radio Orchestra) and the Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune, by Claude Debbusy, have remained memorable. They are moments of intense and ardent living, interpreted with a divine calm despite the fact that the musician was gesticulating only with his left hand.

The unique moments we offer you in the Polyphonies programme from 9th and 12th September are of artistic and emotional value. The album is included in the 'Vote for the Best Classical Album of 2014' campaign.
