We are talking about an album that was recorded by the pianist Luiza Borac and released on 26th June, 2014. The album's name, Chants Nostalgiques (Nostalgic Songs), is inspired by the three works of Constantin Silvestri which were recorded for the first time, as well as pieces and transcriptions belonging to composers Fritz, Kreisler, Franz Schubert and Franz Liszt. This album contains also historical recordings of the Romanian tenor, Ion Buzea, dating from 1964 and remastered in 2014.

Passion, sensitivity and amazing technical control' were the words BBC Music Magazine used to describe Luiza Borac in 2007 when the pianist was awarded the prize for the best solo CD recording of the year.

Luiza Borac is the winner of various prizes and distinctions, such as, the 'Mendelssohn' International Piano Competition and Grieg Prize of the 'Edvard Grieg International Piano Competition Oslo.

We continue with another representative figure of the Romanian music stage brought to light by some valuable recordings that appear on Luiza Borac's album, Chants Nostalgiques. We are talking about the tenor Ion Buzea whom you can listen playing famous pieces by Robert Schumann, Franz Schubert, Tiberiu Brediceau and Gheorghe Dima, which were recorded in 1984 during the 'George Enescu' International Competition and remastered in 2014 by Luiza Borac's extraordinary interpretation. Luiza Borac said that she found the recordings during her postdoctoral studies and, due to a nostalgic feeling, she wanted to mingle the past with the present, so she included them in this album. The result is a subtle balance between the old and the new, recreating a nostalgic and mysterious atmosphere.
