The garden of... sounds, from Auletta to Horner - 23th January 2016

Thursday, 14 January 2016 , ora 10.09

Just like in every Saturday and Sunday, The garden of...sounds suggests for you to enjoy the musical beauties created by composers and musicians during the years. And in order for music to show its entire splendour, the musical programme it's reserved for fully broadcasted opera.

Saturday, 23th January, I suggest an edition where you will listen Concerto for harpsichord, two violins and orchestra by Domenico Auletta, a recent discovery and recorded for the first time for an album released in October 2015 by the "Il Pomo D'Oro" ensemble, lead by Maxim Emelyanychev. Another interesting work is Suite no. 4, op. 61 "Mozartiana" by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, the homage of the Russian composer brought to Mozart at the aniversary of 100 years from the premiere of "Don Giovanni". The programme also includes the mezzo-soprano Teresa Berganza, accompanied by the Capitole orchestra from Toulouse, conducted by Michel Plasson, interpreting "Scheherazade", the three symphonic poems for voice and orchestra by Maurice Ravel, so that the ending of the edition to be reserved to a composition whose first audition was in 2014. Signed by the American James Horner, the work is entitled "Pas de deux"- Concerto for violin, cello and orchestra and we have as solists the two brothers from Norway, Mari și Hakon Samuelsen. They ordered this work and they got ownership for it, helped by the Wilhelmsen Foundation.

So don't miss "The garden of...sounds" on 23th January, starting at 11 AM at Radio România Muzical.
