The "Heirs of Musical Romania" scholarship, meant to support the values of Romanian performing arts in the field of classical music, is addressed to young musicians aged between 16 and 24, with Romanian citizenship. The value of the scholarship is 4,500 euros and it is fully awarded to a single scholarship holder.

Holding the competition to obtain the " Heirs of Musical Romania " scholarship

Candidates will submit online applications for participation by May 12th, 2024.

The jury will review the applications starting on May 13th, at the latest on June 28th, 2024 and the scholarship winner will be announced.

Conditions of participation

Performers with Romanian citizenship born between January 1st, 2000 and December 31st, 2008 can apply, regardless of the instrument/type of voice, the form of education and the place where they are currently studying. The winners of previous editions are no longer entitled to participate in this edition.

The scholarship is awarded to support a specific project proposed by the candidate, in relation to his professional development. The scholarship can be used for supporting educational institutions in the country and abroad, participating in masterclasses, purchasing an instrument, making audio/video recordings, editing discs or any other activities related to the professional development of a musician.

The jury will not analyze the form in which the project is conceived, but its actual content, as well as the applicant's ability to effectively support it, proven by the entries with which he enters the competition.

The scholarship winner will give a recital in Bucharest, as part of the scholarship obtained.

The jury can also decide on additional benefits offered to the scholarship holder/finalists: special recordings, concerts during the season, appearances in shows, supporting the candidacy for the title of "Young Artist of the Year" at the ICMA (International Classical Music Awards) gala, artistic representation.

Registration in the competition

Candidates will send the application file to cristina.comandasu@radioromania.ro which must include:

The project proposed by the candidate, for which he is applying for a scholarship

A copy of the identity document, certifying the candidate's age

A professional CV, showing the candidate's artistic experience

At least five youtube links to relevant developments of the candidate, from previous recitals/concerts - recordings made with non-professional means (mobile phone), unedited, made since January 2023 are accepted

Jury

The jury is made up of: Cristina Comandașu - manager of Radio România Muzical, the initiator of the project, Kovacs Emöke - manager of the "Dinu Lipatti" Philharmonic from Satu Mare, Silvia Sbârciu - manager of the "Transilvania" Philharmonic from Cluj-Napoca, Liliana Staicu - director of the Projects and Events Center Radio România, Ivona Stănculeasa - manager of the "Oltenia" Philharmonic from Craiova, Sebastian Tegzeșiu - manager of the Braşov Philarmonic, Cristina Uruc - interim manager of Artexim. Delegate member from Rotary Club Pipera: Dan Popescu.

The decisions of the jury cannot be appealed.
