Violonist Alexandra Bobeico's Performance at The Gala Concert of The Concertino Praga Competition 2013 Broadcast Live on Radio Romania Music

On Sunday, 16th June, at 20:00 o'clock, Radio Romania Music broadcasts live The International Radio Competition for Young Musicians Concertino Praga. One of the 5 winners of this year's edition is Romanian violinist Alexandra Bobeico. She was awarded the 1st prize and the prize for the best interpretation at the violin section.

Concertino Praga is one of the most important contests for young musicians under 18 years of age developed under the auspices of The European Broadcasting Union. Romania has not won the 1st prize in this competition for almost thirty years. Flutist Ion Bogdan Stefanescu is the previous Romanian contestant who was awarded the 1st prize, in 1986.

Maria Alexandra Bobeico was nominated by Radio Romania Music which made the studio recordings that represented the young musician in the competition and guaranteed her the first place at the violin section.

At the Rudolfinum Palace in Prague, Maria Alexandra Bobeico performs alongside The Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra of South Bohemia, under the baton of Jan Talich. They will play Henry Vieuxtemps' Concerto No. 5 for violin and orchestra.

During intermission, Anca Ioana Andriescu, the person in charge with the live broadcast will be talking with Liliana Staicu, editor at Radio Romania Music who will share the news with us right on the spot.

Maria Alexandra Bobeico's prize also includes a recital and a concert tour in the Czech Republic, which will end on 21st June. She will be joined by the second Romanian winner at this competition, the piano section, Cadmiel Botac, who received an honorable mention. Radio Romania Music will broadcast daily information and mail about the performance of these two young great Romanian musicians.

Maria Alexandra Bobeico, born on 16th November, 1996, is a student at the 'George Enescu' National College in Bucharest. She has won many important music competitions in Romania and has attended a series of master classes taught by artists such as Galina Buinovski, Gabriel Croitoru, Stefan Gheorghiu, Liviu Remus Azoitei and Corina Belcea.
