Laurentiu Sima from Pitești, soloist at the symphonic concert at the Pitesti Philharmonic

The Pitesti Philharmonic organizes on Thursday, January 28th, from 19.00, the headquarters of the Multifunctional Center, a new symphonic concert with spectators, with access only 30% of the public, according to the incidence rate of COVID-19 in Pitesti. They will wear protective masks and sit in the available seats in the hall. Along with the symphony orchestra of the Pitesti Philharmonic, conducted by Bogdan Postolache, the Pitesti pianist Laurențiu Sima participates as a soloist. The two guests are for the first time at the Pitesti Philharmonic. In the program: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Symphony no. 15 in G major and Symphony no. 40 in G minor, Tomaso Giovanni Albinoni - Concerto no. 2 in D minor for oboe and string orchestra (tuba transcription by Walter Hilgers ). Conductor Bogdan Postolache graduated from the "George Enescu" High School of Music in Bucharest and the Bucharest Academy of Music, in the cello class of professor Marin Cazacu. He attended Konzertdiplom courses at the "Hochschule fur Musik und Theater", with the distinction of Excellent and masterclasses with renowned teachers. In 2012, he completed, also at the University of Music in Bucharest, the master courses (Conductor Stylistics), in the class of master Horia Andreescu. He has performed, as a soloist or in an orchestra, with the Sibiu Philharmonic, the Chisinau National Philharmonic, the Cyprus Shymphonie Orchestra. Since 2000, he has been the instrumental soloist of the National Radio Orchestra, and since 2002, a permanent guest of the Thunerseespiele Orchestra (Switzerland). As a conductor, he has given concerts with the Symfactory Orchestra in Bucharest, Timișoara, Cluj-Napoca, Iași, Constanța, Craiova, conducted an opera gala in Sibiu (soloists, tenor George Vârban and soprano Mădălina Barbu), a concert at the International Festival " George Enescu "(soloist, violinist Simina Croitoru), the Sibiu and Ploiești Philharmonic. He also conducted the orchestra at concerts held at the invitation of ICR on the occasion of Turkey Day, both in Bucharest and in Istanbul.

After graduating from the "Dinu Lipatti" School of Music in his hometown, Laurențiu Sima from Pitesti attended the "Iacob Mureșianu" Military High School of Music in Bucharest and the National University of Music in Bucharest. An employee of the "George Enescu" Philharmonic in Bucharest, head of the tuba party, he gave concerts both in the country and abroad: Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, Greece, Japan. He is a member of the chamber ensembles Athenaeum Brass Quintet and the Romanian Brass and a founding member of the European Union Orchestra. He was an employee of the "Paul Constantinescu" Philharmonic in Ploiești and collaborated with the Philharmonic in Râmnicu-Vâlcea, Craiova, Giurgiu. Among the concerts held, we mention the Concerto for orchestra and tuba, held in 2016 at the "Paul Constantinescu" Ploiești Philharmonic, and conducted by Walter Hilgers, former pianist at the Vienna Philharmonic and founding member of the German Brass Chamber Band. For his activity, he was awarded, in 2004, by the President of Romania, with the Medal of Cultural Merit Class II.

Tickets can be purchased at the box office of the Pitesti Philharmonic, the price of a ticket being 30 lei. Pupils, students and pensioners benefit from the discounts for each category.
