'Ruxandra Donose 30' Anniversary Gala, on the stage of the Bucharest National Opera

The Bucharest National Opera presents on Saturday, June 5th, starting with 18:30, the Anniversary Gala "RuxandraDonose 30", a unique event meant to celebrate the 30 years of artistic activity of the famous mezzo-soprano. At the rostrum will be the maestro Tiberiu Soare. The directorial concept is signed by Paula Stoica. With the participation of the Bucharest National Opera Orchestra.

On this occasion, Ruxandra Donose, one of the most recognized mezzo-sopranos in the world, will be present for the audience on the stage of the Bucharest National Opera. An artistic personality of great complexity, Ruxandra Donose is known for important roles such as Charlotte in the opera "Werther" by Jules Massenet, or the title role in "Carmen" by Georges Bizet. Also, the big scenes of the world host his male roles, in transvestites, masterfully interpreted, like Cherubino from "Figaro's Wedding" by W.A. Mozart, Sesto from "La Clemenza di Tito" and Idamante from "Idomeneo".

RuxandraDonose is especially appreciated for the special timbre of the voice and the fantastic intelligence in the interpretation, accompanied by an absolutely extraordinary sensitivity and force of expression.

The year 1990 was a very important one for his career, he started a rich activity internationally, on the big stages of the world (Berlin, Vienna, Munich, Frankfurt, etc.) and participated in a series of recordings at important record companies in Mannheaim, Hamburg and Frankfurt.

In 1996 he performed for the first time in the United States, at the San Francisco Opera, in "Hoffmann's Tales", by Offenbach.

In 2002, she was nominated for the 44th edition of the Grammy Awards, in the category of best performance, with the work of composer Antonin Dvorak, "Stabat Mater".

In 2008 she sang in the world premiere of Howard Shore's "The Fly" at the Theater du Chatelet in Paris, playing the lead female role, Veronica.

The year 2010 brought RuxandraDonose four important role debuts in operas: "Don Giovenni" by Mozart (the role of Dona Elvira), "The Death of Cleopatra" by Berlioz, "Orpheus and Eurydice" by Gluck (the role of Orpheus, in transvestites) and " Farnace "by Vivaldi, an opera he recorded for the record company EMI Virgin Classics, in a specific baroque ambiance, with a group of instrumentalists who played historical instruments.

Throughout his artistic career he has collaborated with some of the world's greatest conductors: Claudio Abbado, Pierre Boulez, Sir Colin Davis, Mariss Jansons, Sergiu Celibidache, Donald Runnicles, Vladimir Jurowski and Zubin Mehta.

He has performed on the world's biggest stages such as the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Metropolitan Opera New York, San Francisco Opera, Paris National Opera, Vienna State Opera, Berlin Staatsoper, Los Angeles Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Teatro Real, Madrid and Tokyo.

"Cinderella", "Carmen", "Norma", "Werther", "The Knight of the Roses", "Idomeneo" are works in which RuxandraDonose has successfully played leading roles.

In order to safely enjoy each show, the performances have been adapted and do not exceed a maximum of 2 hours, according to the official rules in force. We remind you that wearing a mask is mandatory, social distance will be respected, and the show has no break. Access to the performance hall will be one hour before the start of the performance, based on the ticket (physical or electronic). In order to participate in the performances of the Bucharest National Opera, vaccination is not mandatory.
