Andrea de Vitis, one of the most important contemporary Italian guitarists, performs during the anniversary edition of 'Guitar Evenings'

Thursday, 11 November 2021 , ora 14.28

The fifth concert of the "2021 Guitar Evenings" brings to Bucharest for the first time one of the most interesting guitarists of the young generation, the Italian Andrea de Vitis, a musician who impresses with his expressive power, coupled with a knowledge of the technical resources of the instrument that is close to perfection. On Saturday 13 November, from 19:30, in the George Enescu Concert Hall of the National University of Music in Bucharest, Andrea de Vitis proposes a sonic journey to a confluence of the Romantic and Modern eras, with a programme that combines the energetic, dancing side of the guitar repertoire (Granados' Poetic Waltzes and Villa-Lobos' Brazilian Popular Suite) with a series of "musical tributes" to fellow musicians by leading composers: Manuel de Falla's Homenaje pour le tombeau by Debussy, Angelo Gilardino's Into the Rose Garden (for Julian Bream) and Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco's Greeting Cards series, op. 170. At the opening, the winner of the online competition "Kitharalogos Scholarship", 3rd edition, IoanBãnescu, will perform a mini-recital and will receive the prize of 1200 RON, together with the scholarship to the ICon Arts Academy 2022, worth 2200 RON, offered by UCIMR.
