Music 4 All – 4 perspectives on contemporary music

Monday, 15 November 2021 , ora 9.24

Between the 12thand the 21st of November, the violinist Diana Jipa and the pianist ȘtefanDoniga will publish online a series of 4 videos depicting 4 contemporary Romanian musical creations, reunited under the title "Music 4 All". Although the chamber duo has already accustomed the public to the cinematographic approach and presentation of music - most notablycontemporary music - by releasing 40 such video materials during the last two years, materials that have reached almost a million and a half views, the novelty of the current project is represented, first of all, by the fact that 4 of the most important contemporary Romanian composers have each created a special piece ofwork to be interpreted and illustrated by the two musicians as part of this artistic project.

Thus, scores produced starting from July 2021 and written by the well-known composers Adrian Iorgulescu, MihaelaVosganian, Ulpiu Vlad and Viorel Munteanu have been recorded and illustrated in a LIVE format, under the coordination of the producer, Mihai Toma, in the studios of the National University of Music Bucharest, as well as in the sumptuous and refined ambiance of the Constanța Museum of Art.

"We chose an English title not only because it allows the use of number 4, which stands for the number of composers involved in the project, in a catchy play on words, but also to symbolize the modernity and the openness of our artistic endeavor. We want to show that contemporary music, also aided by image, can truly be for all, that it can speak and convey emotional things to each and every one. We're delighted that 4 composers of such value have written for us, for our idea to illustrate music and publish it on the internet. It's a big and glorious step, symbolic even, on the path that we, performers, have always taken - that of communication and closure between creator and public"stated the pianist Ștefan Doniga, the initiator and coordinator of the Music 4 All project.

The online premieres of the video materials included in the project are scheduled as follows:
