Wednesday, 24 November 2021 , ora 16.14

The "George Enescu" Filarmonics schedules for Thursday, 25th and Friday, 26th of November 2021 at 19 o'clock in The Grande Chamber of the Romanian Athenaeum, a concert with public, directed by Iosif Ion Prunner, organized in collaboration with The Liszt Institute - The Hungarian Cultural Institute Bucharest with the occasion of The Year of György Cziffra 100 (1921-1994). The program is composed of the Concert no. 1 in mi bemol major for piano and orchestra, s. 124 by Franz Liszt and of two works by Richard Strauss: Serenade for blowing instruments, op. 7 and The Metamorphoses for 23 string instruments. The vocalist in the Liszt piano concert is the Hungarian artist Marcell Szabo, awarded with the Award Cziffra - The Talent Festival in 2019. The public will be able to participate in around 30% of the full capacity of the Grande Chamber of the Romanian Athenaeum according to the health current conditions. The tickets for these two musical events will be on sale on Thursday, 18th of November at 12 o'clock.

"The Concert no. 1 for piano and orchestra by Liszt - brilliant, extrovert, showing a deep passion of displaying of the pianistic virtuosity - was composed around the year 1835 and for the last two decades, the composer has gone back and forth to review the sketches. In 1855, the Concert nr. 1 sees the spotlight at Weimar with Liszt as the vocalist and Hector Berlioz by the desk. Throughout the four parts which, through their allure, remind of the continuous movement of the classical symphony - the dramaturgy of the concert happens continuously. However, even though the first three parts have their own themes, the last one reviews the material in the previous sections now in a new light", the musicologist Octavia-Anahid Dinulescu has appreciated. "In the second part of the concerts one can find an arch over the time of creation of Richard Strauss. From the Serenade for blowers op. 7, a pure romantic music without any worries, uncertainties to the opposed one composed in the last month of the Second World War (1945), entitled Metamorphoses. This work for 23 instruments who become vocalists suggests the transformations the horrific war brought in people's hearts. It is one of the last opposed works of Strauss, this huge romantic. " the director Iosif Ion Prunner has declared, which is also the coordinator of the Filarmonics Choir "George Enescu"
