Live Transmission from Amsterdam on Radio Romania Music - 25th August, 2014

Wednesday, 13 August 2014 , ora 9.11

It is the beginning of a new week and we would like to propose to you a new live transmission on Radio Romania Music.

You are invited to the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam for a special concert. The Greek violinist Leonidas Kavakos will be, on Monday, 25th August, the soloist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. So far, we have a performer who is known for his virtuosity and musicality and one of the world’s best ensembles. The conductor will be Mariss Jansons, who has been chief conductor of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra since 2004. The Latvian musician holds this position in the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, as well.

Leonidas Kavakos will perform the solo part of Johannes Brahms’s Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 77; the programme will be completed by two of Richard Strauss’s tone poems: Death and Transfiguration, Op. 24 and Till Eulenspiegel, Op.28.

The concerto, broadcasted live on Radio Romania Music from the Royal Concertgebouw, during the European Music Stage programme, will be commented on by Anca Ioana Andriescu, starting at 21:00.

You will be able to listen to it again on our website romaniamuzical.ro for 30 days.
