BBC Proms Festival on Radio Romania Music - 26th August, 2014

Wednesday, 13 August 2014 , ora 9.03

On Tuesday, we will be back on the stage of the BBC Proms Festival, to continue the series of broadcast s within the British musical celebration.

The Budapest Festival Orchestra, which is present at the BBC Proms for the second time, now proposes a complete Johannes Brahms concert that will be conducted by Iván Fischer. His name is related to the history of the Budapest ensemble. Initially founded for a limited number of concerts per year, the Festival Orchestra of the capital city of Hungary became an institution of its own, in as early as 1992. Ivan Fischer also brought to Budapest and Berlin new types of musical expressions: “the cocoa concerts” for children, “the surprize-concerts” – with the programme being announced on stage, and “staged concerts”, a combination between classical concert and theatre. Besides conducting, Ivan Fischer has also dedicated himself to composing recently; his opuses have been performed on stages in the United States of America, the Netherlands, Belgium and his native country – Hungary, or Germany.

In the concert on Tuesday, 26th August, Iván Fischer will conduct Johannes Brahms’s Symphony No. 3 and Symphony No. 4. The concert of the Budapest Festival Orchestra, conducted by Iván Fischer will be broadcast live from the Royal Albert Hall on Radio Romania Music, during the European Music Stage programme.
