Luiza Borac, the Protagonist of the ʽNonconformist Portait' - 18th January, 2015

Sunday, 18 January 2015 , ora 9.30

ʽPassion, sensibility and impressive technique are the words which define Luiza Borac's performance ' - titrated the BBC Music Magazine in 2007, when the Romanian pianist was awarded the BBC prize for the best solo album of the year. It was awarded to her for the album which contained all the complete works for piano solo by George Enescu and which was a project carried out for the first time and recorded by the reputable music recording company, Avie Records.

And the albums which followed that moment, which was a top one in Luiza Borac's carreer, have confirmed the statute of the artist and have revealed, one by one, other facets of her pianistic art, which are cherished both by the critique and the public.

In 2009 and 2010 she anticipated the anniversaries of Chopin and Liszt by recording some exceptional albums which comprised works of the great romantic pianists and composers, and in 2012 she signed as an interpreter a double album with the complete works of the composer Dinu Lipatti, which was another novel endeavour that benefited by the collaboration of one of the most reputed ensembles in the world - The Academy of Saint Martin in the Fields.

But, maybe one of her recordings which were most inspired and full of sensitivity, an album one must listen to within the soul in the first place, is Chants Nostalgiques, the most recent discographic release, the songs which you have already had the opportunity to listen to, here, on Radio Romania Music.

For all this and for much more, we have chosen Luiza Borac as the protagonist of a Nonconformist Portait, which I invite you to listen to on Sunday, 18th January, starting at 10:00.
