Opera Evening - Special Edition with Cellia Costea and Dan Paul Dumitrescu - 18th March, 2015

Friday, 13 March 2015 , ora 16.14

Why an Opera Evening especially for them?

Because they are two of the most serious and dedicated opera artists. They have already spent fifteen years on the stages on the front line. And still, we know so little about them...

Because they have quickly dissapeared from sight after having won some important International canto competitions and they have both found their separate ways: one of them under the eternally clear sky of Athens and the other in the eternally walzing soul of Vienna. And since then we have seldomly met them, always on the go, always taking refuge in a modesty too great...

Who are they, in a few words?

Cellia Costea - a beautiful lyric spinto soprano who was born in Piatra Neamț and is a graduate of the National University of Music in Bucharest; at the present she is a soloist of the Opera in Athens, permanently invited to sing on the most important European lyric stages: in the roles of ... Tosca, Madame Butterfly, Desdemona and Leonore in France and Italy; of a great artistic stature, applauded, every once in a while, in Bucharest, too!

Dan Paul Dumitrescu - a bass with a noble timbrality; he was born and studied in Bucharest, and has been soloist of the State Opera in Vienna for fifteen years. An artist who, in this period, has archived performances and concerts held at: the Royal Albert Hall, Il Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Carneggie Hall or the Operas in München, Berlin, Paris, Tokio and Tel Aviv; an artist whom we would like to listen to again and more often!

And when and how will the meeting with these two guests take place?

On Wednesday, 18th March, starting at 19.00.

As usual, live, in AUDIO - on FM and in VIDEO - on line, with many testimonials - in premiere and musical pieces performed for the first time.

A meeting which is not triggered by glory, but in a completely novel way, by ...Opera Music, the first love of my guests. This is an edition that I hope will stay dear to your souls!
