'The Holy Week' - a Project of the Broadcasting European Union, on Radio Romania Music

Friday, 3 April 2015 , ora 8.46

The days preceding the Resurrection of the Lord represents an important period in the life of any Christian, and the mood that is spread by this preparation is a wholly special one. This year, Radio Romania music brings the atmosphere of Easter from other countries to your homes, through the concerts reunited under the generic name 'The Holy Week'. There are ten concerts from ten countries, members of the European Broadcasting Union, which on 29th March, 2015, were broadcast live through satellite. Starting Monday, 6th April, 2015, Radio Romania Music will broadcast them every day from 10:00 o'clock.

We will have to opportunity to listen to varied styles of music, from Byzantine monody to gospel music, from the Middle Ages to contemporaneity. From the well-known works you can listen to this week we can mention Matthaus Passion and Johannes Passio' by Johann Sebastian Bach, Stabat Mater by Antonin Dvorak and Passio Domini Nostri Jesu Christi secundum Joannem by Arvo Part. The list of the performers is a long and impressive one, but if we were to chose a couple of names we could speak of the Choir of the Russian State TV and Radio Music Centre, the 'Anold Schonberg' Choir, the Peregrina Ensemble, the 'Concertus Musicus' Ensemble, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the 'BBC Singers' Group, the conductors Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Mariss Jansons, Roger Norrington and many others.

Therefore, it seems there is going to be a full week, during which you will have the opportunity to listen to various interesting styles of music and you will be loaded with the spiritual energy they give off. Many pleasant surprises await you as well as a couple of hours daily with religious works dedicated to the Passions and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

We are waiting for you starting on Monday, 6th April, 2015, until Good Friday to join Radio Romania Music and the 'The Holy Week' of the European Broadcasting Union.
