"One of the joys a professor has is to fulfill his profession through the performers, whom he desires to reach the highest level; and these young performers prove themselves by everything they do - and believe me, they do very much: a lot of concerts, they are also very creative, they keep searching for new pieces for their repertoire so that they diversify their previous repertoire and equally enjoy the music they perform, but mostly so that they could bring joy to everyone who listens to their music..." this is how the highly admired violoncello player Marin Cazacu recommendes his students: the violoncello players Ella Bokor and Mircea Marian, reunited in the Jaya Duo - a sensational ensemble characterised by a diverse repertoire, which is rarely encountered in concert halls, ranging from baroque music to jazz, with original or adapted compositions for the two violoncellos. Why Duo Cello Jaya? "Because we thought about it and finally chose the goddess of victory in the Hindu mythology - the Goddess Jaya..." Ella Bokor added, who together with Mircea Marian had chosen the day of 8th of April, 2014 to interpret works by Reinhold Glière, David Popper and Giovanni Sollima at the the Small Hall of the Romanian Athenaeum. There was also a special event on the evening of 29th April, 2014, when the Small Hall of the Romanian Athenaeum hosted the young flautist Oana Leonte together with the pianist Luiza Maria Velciu. 24 years old Oana Leonte, bornt in Iași, is an MA student at the National University of Music Bucharest and the main flute player in the orchestra of the Romanian National Opera. Showing an affinity towards French and German composers - and as she herself confessed - Oana Leonte included in her programme works signed by Johann Sebastian Bach, Sigfrid Karg-Elert, Francis Poulenc, Paul Taffanel and André Jolivet.

You can listen to selections from the two recitals performed during the fifth season of he Tuesday Evening Season programme on Radio Romania Music Concerts on 28th April, 2015, at 19:30.
