In 2015, we celebrate the 175^th anniversary of one of the most important Romantic composers - Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, born on 25^th April or 7^th as they say now, in 1840.

It is the composer who left behind masterpieces in mostly all the genres of classical music: Concerto No.1 for piano and orchestra, the 6 Symphonies, the last one being called Pathétique, the Swan Lake ballet and The Nutcracker, Concerto for violin and orchestra, Eugene Onegin and The Queen of Spades.

On 7^th May, 2015, Radio Romania Music will broadcast the Tchaikovsky Day. Between 13:10-20:30, Andreea Chiselev and Anca Ioana Andriescu will present the creations which made Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky famous and made him being recognized as one of the greatest composers of all times.

On 7^th May the Tchaikovsky Day on Radio Romania Music will consist of: a meeting with Romanticism, expressivity and sensitivity - the music of Tchaikovsky in its most important interpretations from yesterday and from today.
