Janine Jansen Has Been Invited to Perform at the 2015 'George Enescu' International Festival - Arpeggio, 10th and 11th August

Monday, 10 August 2015 , ora 13.27

Janine Jansen is going to come to Romania to perform on the stage of the Palace Hall, on 19th September, 2015, at 19:30, at the "George Enescu" International Festival. The artist will be accompanied by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam, conducted by Andris Nelsons and she will enchant the audience with the Violin Concerto No. 1, Sz. 36, BB 48a, by Béla Bartók.

Janine Jansen was born in the Dutch city of Soest, on 7th January, 1978. She began studying the violin at six years old, which was a natural choice, given the fact that she was brought up in a family in which both her parents and her two brothers are musicians. Among Janine Jansen's appearances on stage, which have proven to be very successful, we mention the concert which she performed accompanied by the National YouthOrchestraof Scotland, in 2001, the opening concert of the BBC Proms 2005, the concert performed at the Waldbühne, a year later, accompanied by the Berlin Philharmonic, in front of an audience of 25.000 people, as well as the concert performed on the stage of the "Walt Disney" Concert Hall in Los Angeles, accompanied by the Los Angeles Philharmonic, in 2008.

The list of the recordings made by the Dutch artist continues with concertos by Mendelssohn and Bruch, when she was accompanied by the LeipzigGewandhausOrchestra, conducted by Riccardo Chailly, and violin sonatas by Bach, which were recorded for the iTunes Music Store. One of her greatest wishes, which came true in 2009, under the conducting baton of Paavo Järvi, was to record the complete cycle of Beethoven's and Britten's violin concerts. A French music recital, recorded alongside pianist Itamar Golan and an album, which was dedicated to Serghei Prokofiev's creation, were added to the same list.

We can also find chamber works by Schönberg and Bach in the table of contents of the albums which display Janine Jansen's photograph on their covers.

In January 2006 she recorded an album which contains a chamber arrangement of the Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi; and the members of the ensemble which accompanied her when recording the album, are Candida Thompson and Henk Rubingh - violins, Julian Rachlin - viola, Maarten Jansen, the brother of the artist - cello, Stacey Watton - contrabass, Elizabeth Kenny - theorbo, and Jan Jansen, Janina Jansen's father - harpsichord. The album was very well received by the public and it reached a high number of online downloads.

We are going to listen to Janine Jansen perform on her 1727 Stradivarius violin musical works by Bach and Vivaldi, as well as Saint-Saëns and Beethoven on Arpeggio, on Monday, 10th August, and Tuesday, 11th August, starting at 10:00; the repeats are scheduled at 17:05.
