Gossec, Mozart and Haydn at the Radio Hall

The season of The Chamber Orchestra Radio continues on Wednesday, 19th of October 2011, at 19.00, at the Radio Hall, with a special concert conducted by Radu Postăvaru and having as soloist violinist Cristina Anghelescu. In the programme of this special night you will listen to Symphonie no. 1 by François-Joseph Gossec, Violin Concerto No. 7 in D major by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Symphony No. 4 in D major and Symphony No. 89 in F major by Joseph Haydn.

Born in a family of musicians, Radu Postăvaru grew up surrounded by the musical universe of the 'Moldova' Philharmonic in Iași, his birth city. On the stage, playing seriously with the sounds and conducting gestures which led the orchestra, Radu Postăvaru managed immediately to get known worldwide as a baton wonder child. At present, Radu Postăvaru is the conductor of the 'Paul Constantinescu' Philharmonic Orchestra in Ploiești and the permanent guest of some prestigious orchestras in the country. He has conducted in Germany, Italy, France, Czech Republic and Spain.

'An audacious and original performance, a delightful sound, a brilliant stage apparition...' stated Russia! Magazine in Moscow after violinist Cristina Anghelescu's success at the P. I. Tchaikovsky prestigious competition. Each concert held by Cristina Anghelescu confirms the appreciations and completes her artistic personality with new features. The violinist is a graduate of the National University of Music in Bucharest, a participant in the class of Maestro Ștefan Gheorghiu (disciple of David Oistrakh). Moreover, Cristina Anghelescu is a winner of a great number of difficult international competitions: Jacques Thibaud in Paris 1981, Alberto Curci ‒ Naples 1983, Tibor Varga ‒ Sion 1983, Dr Luis Sigall ‒ Viña del Mar 1985, Tchaikovsky ‒ Moscow 1986, Jean Sibelius ‒ Helsinki 1990, Andria 1991. The artist is present in many recitals colaborating with Romanian and foreign musicians, choosing a very divers repertoire, performed at the highest artistical levels.
