The Radio România Muzical Encounters. A recital-event held by violinist Alexandru Tomescu in Sinaia
As part of the events marking 28 years since the first broadcast of Radio România Muzical- the only radio station in Romania dedicated to classical music -"The Radio România Muzical Encounters" comes to Sinaia with an extraordinary recital held by violinist Alexandru Tomescu, followed by a conversation between Tomescu and the audience, moderated by Cristina Comandașu, the station's manager. These two events will take place on Friday, the 11th of April, starting at 19:00, at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Sinaia (Aleea Poștei, no. 5). Doors open at 18:30.
Tomescu's recital is a reprise of the one performed on Radio România Muzical's anniversary at St. Joseph's Cathedral in Bucharest. The program features four suites by Johann Sebastian Bach (Nos. 1, 2, 3, and 6), originally composed for solo cello and transcribed for solo violin by Werner Icking.
A symbol of excellence in the field of Romanian interpretive arts, Alexandru Tomescu is the soloist of the Radio România Orchestras and an ambassador for "Listen to 5 Minutes of Classical Music", a project initiated and developed by Radio România Muzical. Since 2018, he has also hosted "Objective-emotive", a biweekly segment that has become an important part of the station's programme. A symbol of excellence in the field of Romanian interpretive arts, alongside a radio station dedicated to excellence in classical music, reflects a shared commitment to quality through broadcasts, live concerts, educational projects, and support for young musicians.
This series of events is supported by BRD Groupe Société Générale and the Vasile Deleanu Law Firm, with additional support from the Remember Enescu Foundation.
