About the whims of the voice and the nuances of success in opera. Guest in the studio, mezzo-soprano Roxana Constantinescu
I will begin this invitation with... the conclusion I reached a few days ago while trying to somehow organize my thoughts about Roxana Constantinescu: Success becomes visible, recognized, and constant when you know how to give importance and brilliance to your profession-a truth to which Roxana Constantinescu has, I believe, always been attentive! Otherwise, how would she have managed to remain in the international music scene for over 20 years?
And I will continue by saying that... surprising - my encounters with this wonderful artist have always been surprising! Whether I saw her on stage, collaborated with her under the auspices of the Opera FANtastica project, had her as a guest on Opera Evening, or recorded telephone conversations that quickly explored her latest artistic achievements. Surprising, revealing to me, each time, a new facet of her human and artistic personality, as I expect today's meeting to be, in the studio of Radio România Muzical.
A meeting to which I invite you all to take part, starting at 7 p.m., broadcast live and on video on our station's Facebook page.
Roxana Constantinescu in 5 paragraphs:
She was born in Bucharest, graduated from the National University of Music in the class of renowned soprano Maria Slătinaru-Nistor, and holds a double master's degree in Opera and Lied from Munich.
She began her career as a member of the prestigious ensemble of soloists of the Vienna State Opera in 2007. Since 2010, her career has taken her to some of the most prestigious international stages, such as the Teatro La Fenice, the Deutscheoper in Berlin, and the opera houses in Rome, Zurich, Beijing, Tokyo, Los Angeles, and Paris.
She is renowned for her musical complexity and her ability to tackle opera, vocal-symphonic and miniature genres with equal success.
On her debut in the United States in 2011, the American press called her a "world-class mezzo-soprano."
She is one of those Romanian artists who have never missed an opportunity to demonstrate their talent at home, in front of Romanian audiences.
