Results of the competition for the “Heirs of Musical Romania” scholarship, awarded by Radio România Muzical and Rotary Club Pipera
The "Heirs of Musical Romania" project is one of the most relevant programs for the promotion and support of young musicians. It is a joint initiative by Radio România Muzical and Rotary Club Pipera, launched in 2018, with two main directions: recitals and concerts featuring young musicians who are already internationally recognized, performed in prestigious venues in Bucharest and across the country; and a scholarship competition worth 4,500 euros, open to musicians aged between 16 and 24.
In 2025, for the sixth edition of the "Heirs of Musical Romania" competition, 13 young musicians applied. The jury that evaluated the applications consisted of leading figures in Romanian musical life: Cristina Comandașu - Manager of Radio România Muzical and the project's initiator, Kovacs Emöke - Manager of the "Dinu Lipatti" Philharmonic in Satu Mare, Silvia Sbârciu - Manager of the "Transylvania" Philharmonic in Cluj-Napoca, Liliana Staicu - Director of the Projects and Events Center at Radio România, Ivona Stănculeasa - Manager of the "Oltenia" Philharmonic in Craiova, Sebastian Tegzeșiu - Manager of the Philharmonic in Brașov, Dan Popescu - Delegated member from Rotary Club Pipera.
In 2025, the 4,500-euro scholarship will be awarded to cellist Sofia Blându, who, as part of the scholarship, will perform a recital in Bucharest organized by Radio România Muzical.
As part of the scholarship, Sofia Blându will also embark on a recital tour during the 2025-2026 season at the philharmonics in Brașov, Satu Mare, and Craiova, and in the 2026-2027 season, she will perform a concert with the Transylvania Philharmonic Orchestra in Cluj.
Pianist George Țăranu, recognized in the competition, will also benefit from professional opportunities offered by jury members, including recitals at the philharmonics in Satu Mare and Craiova.
Guitarist Iulia Lică will also receive professional engagements with recitals at the philharmonics in Craiova and Brașov.
