Starting June 9th, summer season at Radio România Muzical

Wednesday, 4 June 2025 , ora 11.23

As the main musical event of the year is the George Enescu International Festival, eagerly awaited by Radio Romania Muzical listeners, we bring you closer to it every day through "Performers at the George Enescu International Festival 2025", with portraits and representative recordings (at 10 a.m., repeated at 5 p.m.).

Summer is also the perfect time to discover or rediscover important musical events, so from Monday to Friday, at 3 p.m., we invite you to listen to Radio România Muzical Concerts: we are launching a series dedicated to Baroque music, with premiere recordings by the Sempre Ensemble taken from the 2024 Early Music Festival in Brașov; we continue with a selection from the 2023 Enescu Festival concerts and the complete concerts from the Stradivarius tour. Not to be missed are the six premiere concerts we are recording at the 2025 Magic Summer Festival.

From Monday to Friday, at noon and repeated at 11 p.m., we are reopening the 'Cabinet of Curiosities' with Anca Ioana Andriescu.

We will rediscover stories from 'Musical Bucharest of the Past' with Liviu Pețu, Monday to Friday, at 3 p.m. and 9 p.m.

As usual, Berti Barbera will be waiting for you on weekends with Aquarela do Brasil, premiering on Sundays at 1:00 p.m. We will also rediscover the charm and beauty of traditional Romanian music at 1:30 p.m. with ethnomusicologist Constantin Secară. The latest music releases remain in the spotlight with two editions of CD Review at 4 p.m.

Jazz concertwith Viorel Grecu is the proposal for the weekend: 2 hours, starting at 6 p.m.

And from 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, we look forward to welcoming you with two new programmes: Opera mia with Irina Cristina Vasilescu (Saturdays) and Florica Jalbă (Sundays). These are recordings suggested by some of our listeners, who are passionate music lovers, with interesting insights.

And, of course, a constant feature of our summer programme remains our live broadcasts from major European festivals and events. The opening of the Richard Wagner Festival in Bayreuth, the BBC Proms, Aix en Provence, Salzburg, the open-air concert at the Waldbuhne in Berlin - all live on Radio Romania Muzical.

Starting 24th August, Radio România Muzical will offer the opportunity to listen to a significant number of concerts from the George Enescu International Festival programme - and after September 21st, when the festival ends, the opportunity to listen to recorded concerts.

This is summer 2025 on Radio România Muzical: wherever you are, join us, because your holiday is bound to get better and more relaxing!
