A new edition for the project ‘Listen to 5 minutes of classical music’

Wednesday, 8 October 2025 , ora 11.43

Starting from September 22nd, the 'Listen to 5 minutes of classical music' project returns to schools across Romania, and from the 1st of October, it will be present in unconventional places all around the country.

Listen to 5 minutes of classical music in schools

For the 11th consecutive year, Radio România Muzical weekly brings two musical works to schools across Romania, followed by explanations in order to be understood by everyone. All the works can be accessed by everyone on the website www.romania-muzical.ro/5minute, where scholars can also take part in a student-dedicated competition. Teachers also have access to a free offline version of these recordings offered by Radio România Muzical. Throughout the 2025-2026 school year, children will listen to a total of 54 musical works, a chronological exploration of music history, from the medieval period to contemporary age, with examples carefully chosen.

Listen to 5 minutes of classical music in unconventional places

Hypermarkets, malls, bookshops, museums, company headquarters: these are the unconventional places where the great music of all times will be heard everyday throughout the month of March, as part of the 'Listen to 5 minutes of classical music' project, initiated by Radio România Muzical, and running continuously since 2010.

Famous musical works become part of the soundscape introduced by project partners, all rendered by estimable Romanian and international artists, many of them being recordings from the National Radio Orchestra and the Radio Chamber Orchestra seasons.

The project's partners cover major names in Romanian retail and business: Carrefour România, Mega Image România, Bran Castle, Dedeman, Cărturești bookshops, Iulius Mall from Iași, Timișoara, Cluj și Suceava, Palas Mall Iași, ParkLake Shopping Center, Supernova Pitesti, Drobeta, Bacau, Constanta, Bucharest Lujerului, Bucharest Alexandriei, and Avia Motors, with the support from Mood Media.

The project 'Listen to 5 minutes of classical music' has been running for 15 years in unconventional spaces across the country. The first edition took place in October 2010, and since then, during March and October, the public has had the opportunity to discover or rediscover the great opuses of classical music in unexpected settings. These auditory experiences have been positively received both by clients and by employees of the partner organization. Over time, concerts with Romanian artists have been organised within the same project, which have met an astounding public success.

More information regarding this campaign is available at www.romania-muzical.ro/5minute, where listeners can rejoice both in the tracks present in unconventional places, and those featured in schools.
