A fresh new start and new ideas for autumn at Radio România Muzical
Radio România Muzical would be delighted to present the new 2025-2026 schedule: signature shows, new features, and livestream concerts, starting from September 29th.
Let's begin with the new features: at 12 o'clock on Saturdays, our young listeners (and beyond) can tune in with the acclaimed TVR producer Valentina Băințan for the featured show "Music teen - Oldies adapted to Gen Z".
Opera shows can be found within the brand new additions: we can indulge in "Opera Prima" with Irina Cristina Vasilescu as host, at 8 P.M. on Saturdays. Then, we get to enjoy "Opera, a world" with Florica Jalbă as host, at 8 P.M. on Sundays. Moreover, you are to witness outstanding livestream opera performances, or fresh recordings taken from famous opera houses from all over the world on Saturdays, as well as can enjoying never seen before recordings on Sundays, along with archive gems from Radio Romania's vast collection.
We would like to announce the presence of two new segments within the radio programmes Musica viva and Perpetuum mobile, with the first one being "Romanian Stories", created by Lelia Zamani, muesographer of the The Museum of the Municipality of Bucharest. The segment intends to features historical testimonies regarding great Romanian musicians, performers and composers alike, just as they've been described throughout historical documents. The second segment will be aired every two months and it will be titled as "Ideas in the Laboratory", created by Ioana Țintea, which would feature musings and opinions of primary school students and teachers alike regarding the importance of music in education. The show's aim is to be a sequel to the Listen to 5 Minutes of Classical Music project.
The signature shows shall return in their original format; for example, the segment dedicated to complete musical works shall return with a feature of piano sonatas, as a proud part of the Polyphonies show. Weekend Allegro, our weekend morning show, will offer our listeners a new segment that shall be devoted at first to presenting the history of piano concerts, called "Steps in History".
Livestream concerts hosted by prominent international stages will also return, of course. London's Wigmore Hall is such an example, hosting a livestream recital will feature music composed by George Enescu, at 3 P.M. on September 29th. Furthermore, the New York Metropolitan Opera shall resume its live broadcasts from December 13th onwards.
The George Enescu Music Festival is not over yet, either. Radio România Muzical will continue to present concert recordings of those that we did not livestream. Stay tuned on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays for our shows.
Thank you for staying tuned to us! Together with good music!
