“Listen to 5 Minutes of Classical Music” – March 1st–31st, in Unconventional Spaces

Thursday, 5 March 2026 , ora 11.12

Hypermarkets, shopping malls, bookstores, museums, and company headquarters are the unconventional spaces where the greatest music of all time will be heard every day throughout March, as part of the project "Listen to 5 Minutes of Classical Music", initiated by Radio România Muzical and carried out without interruption since 2010.

Famous musical works become part of the soundscape proposed by the project's partners, all performed by prestigious Romanian and international artists. Many of them are recent recordings from the seasons of the National Radio Orchestra and the Radio Chamber Orchestra.

The project's partners include important names in Romanian retail and business: Carrefour Romania, Mega Image Romania, Bran Castle, Dedeman Romania, Cărturești Bookstores, Iulius Mall in Iași, Timișoara, Cluj and Suceava, Palas Mall Iași, ParkLake Shopping Center, Supernova Pitești, Drobeta, Bacău, Constanța, Bucharest Lujerului, Bucharest Alexandriei, and Avia Motors. With the support of Mood Media.

The project "Listen to 5 Minutes of Classical Music" has had an uninterrupted 15-year history in unconventional spaces across the country. The first edition took place in October 2010, and since then, during the months of March and October, every day the public has had the chance to discover or rediscover great classical masterpieces in unexpected places. These listening sessions have been positively received by both customers and employees of the project's partners. Over time, concerts featuring Romanian musicians have also been organized within the same project, enjoying remarkable public success.

Since 2014, the project has also been running in Romanian schools, where two musical works can be heard weekly, accompanied by explanations. Children also have the opportunity to participate in an online contest hosted on the project's website.

More information about this campaign can be found at www.romania-muzical.ro/5minute, where both the pieces proposed for unconventional spaces and those intended for students in schools can be listened to.
