After a series of rehearsals which were open to child spectators, we're going to open the season for the little music lovers with a very interesting work, the musical Mister Cauliflower (Monsieur Choufleuri) by Offenbach. The performances will be held throughout the month of October, on the 1^st and 7^th of the month all the way to the 29^th, so according to our usual schedule, every Monday and Tuesday at 11:00 and 13:00 o'clock. It is very interesting to note that children from schools all across Bucharest are signing up for the spectacles. This is a formerly successful spectacle that we are putting on stage again, in response to the requests we have received from children. The spectacle presents a funny story which children are familiar with and enjoy very much. Young soloists and talents of the lyrical theatre such as Valentin Racoveanu, Andrei Lazăr, and Raluca Oprea, will star in the spectacle together with the Comic Opera for Children ballet ensemble, which plays a very important part. The musical is directed by Cătălin Voineag, and the scenography is being handled by Viorica Petrovici. It is, as I have mentioned before, a successful spectacle!

But we will not be performing only in our own theatre in the month of October, as we have been honoured with an invitation to perform in Alba Iulia on 15^thOctober, with the occasion of Royalty Day. On that day we will have a multifaceted programme, starting with the overture to Carmina Burana, and continuing with the choreographic ending to Carmina Burana, and several arias of the operas that are played on the stage of the Comic Opera for Children, which children love. We have also been invited invited to perform on 8^thOctober in Sibiu during the International Festival of Lyrical Arts in the Gong Theatre, which is the children's theatre in Sibiu. We will put on stage Il Maestro di Capellaby Cimarosa and The Impresario(Der Schauspieldirektor) by Mozart. This combination of plays that has been so loved by children in Bucharest will hopefully draw applause in Sibiu as well.

Going back to the 2013-2014 season, could you reveal some of what you have in store for the following year?

Yes. We are in advanced preparations for The Mother with Three Daughters-in-law, a musical by Roman Vlad. It is the duty of an opera, of a lyrical stage such as the Comic Opera for Children, to promote new talent from all musical fields, and especially composers. Our collaboration with the young composer Roman Vlad is very well known by now. He has also composed the musicals A Stormy Night, the Rock in the House, and The Diamond and the Goose, and now we are on our fourth collaboration, The Mother with Three Daughters-in-law, which is directed by Stela Popescu. The Mother will be put on stage starting in January. Then we have a preview of The House of The Three Girls (Das Dreimäderlhaus) by Schubert, but the little ones will be waiting for Don Quijote and Miralondina, and the students in secondary school will come to applaud at the premiere of Don Pasquale by Donizetti and the re-run of another successful spectacle, the opera Figaro by Paisiello.
