The Conductor Cristian Măcelaru on Radio Romania Music Multimedia
The audio and audio-video recordings of the performance will be further followed on the website www.romania-muzical.ro and on the youtube account of Radio Romania Music – the only Romanian radio station dedicated to classical music.
From November 2012, the conductor Cristian Măcelaru has been associate conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra, which is famous for its collaboration with the well-known late Leopold Stokowski. Cristian Măcelaru also conducts other prestigious American orchestras, such as the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, where he successfully leads the orchestra instead of Pierre Boulez. In October 2012, as a laureate of the Georg Solti Foundation, Cristian Măcelaru attended the memorable concert which took place in Chicago and marked the centenary of Georg Solti; the soprano Angela Gheorghiu was also invited to perform.
Cristian Măcelaru is 33 years old. When he was 17, he left Romania to study in the USA. At Radio Romania Music he is going to talk about his debut, about how he became an artist overseas and also about his debut at the Radio Romania Music Hall on 9th November, 2012.
