Sleeping Beauty (fragments)
Our programs which imply dance, in general, and ballet, in particular, were very successful. It is an art with major aesthetic impact, but which is hardly uncovered and understood. I saw at the beginning of the last season the hard work done by the ballet dancers to prepare their entrance into the spotlight with pirouettes and staggering jumps. But…how is a choreography conceived? How is a character built? How do you tell the story credibly only through gestures? Why is a certain move and not another one chosen to suggest an action, a state, an intention? How is ballet written and how much theatrical involvement does it imply? A lot of questions at which prof. Mihaela Țigănuș Vasilovici, prof. Cristina Mitu and his students from the "Floria Capsali" Choreography Highschool in Bucharest will try to answer at a new event which we suggest under the generic title "Classic is fantastic". How we can understand music and dance during the 10th season!
