Silvestri, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, in the online season of the 'George Enescu' Philharmonic House

Thursday, 5 November 2020 , ora 16.06

On Thursday, November 5th, 2020, from 7 P.M., the Symphony Orchestra of the "George Enescu" Philharmonic House, conducted by Gian Luigi Zampieri, offers you a program signed by Constantin Silvestri, Ludwig van Beethoven and Felix Mendelssohn, during the online season. The concert will be recorded without spectators in the Great Hall of the Romanian Athenaeum and will be broadcast on the online channels of the institution. The program consists of Dances from Bihor by Constantin Silvestri, Symphony no. 4, in A major, op. 90, "Italian" by Felix Mendelssohn. Likewise, in the year of Beethoven, 250 years after the birth of the great German composer, the "George Enescu" Philharmonic House scheduled Concerto no. 1 for piano and orchestra in C major, Op. 15, with pianist Andrei Licareț as soloist. The first audition of this concert took place in 1800. "At Beethoven, the piano is integrated into a fabric loaded with subtle motivic, harmonic details, sometimes even playing the accompaniment part for the solo blowers. Beyond its inheritance, the Concerto No. 1 already contains ferments of future masterpieces: unexpected and daring modulations, the main stress given to the developing sections, the scale of the construction of each part, the fundamentally symphonic language ", estimates musicologist Mihai Cojocaru.
