Culture Day in the Capital of Culture - major event of the beginning of the cultural year

Tuesday, 12 January 2021 , ora 15.38

In Romania, all the beginnings of the year are poetic. After the gift month, we celebrate the month of poetry and the Day of Romanian Culture on January 15th, the unparalleled day on which Mihai Eminescu was born.

The Sibiu State Philharmonic invites you to the celebration of culture, offering you an event show, on Friday, January 15th, at 7.00 pm at the Thalia Hall. The famous actor Cristian Iacob will make us smile by telling us our favorite Feats of Pcal and then embodying all the characters of the fairy tale "Youth without old age and life without death". We will hear Eminescu sung by our beloved singer, Melinda Samson, who will waltz on the music of Vasile Timi.

We do not forget to celebrate the creators of Sibiu. Did you know that Marian Negrea, the famous composer based in Cluj, was born in Sibiu County, in Valea Viilor? It's time to sing it more often because the unheard music is being forgotten. Enescu will be present as the guest of honor with the "Prelude to Unison" from Suite 1 for orchestra.

Joining the music, literature and lights directed by Radu Drusan, the historical comics brought from Brasov, which will be exhibited for 2 weeks - between January 15 and 31, 2021 - in the outdoor exhibition "Heroes who made history", on Espanada Hall Thalia on Cetii Street. The exhibition is made with the works received following the national competition dedicated to artists, organized within the Braov 2020 Historical Comics Festival. It contains 27 original comics that include a total of 111 drawings made by 26 authors.

"We celebrate the past by building the future with the bricks given by the local cultural heritage. Romanian composers are inspired by Eminescu's lyrics and the greatness of the Fgra Mountains, the monumental coldness of Lake Blea. Their creations come together in an eclectic bouquet of Romanian musical flowers, offered to the public of the largest "musical florist in Sibiu, the Philharmonic" - said the conductor Cristian Lupe, the manager of the Sibiu State Philharmonic.

The Sibiu Philharmonic Orchestra will be conducted by the young and talented conductor Cristian Sptaru, a student at the Universitat fur Musik und Darstelle Kunst Wien. (text cu link pe site ul universitii)
