Sibiu Philharmonic - Mozart Day concert

In 2020, we celebrated Brukenthal and Beethoven with two events on the occasion of their birthdays. The special concerts dedicated to the great cultural personalities continue in 2021, the first event of this kind being scheduled on Mozart's Day, Wednesday, January 27, starting at 7 pm, at the Thalia Hall.

The instrumental quintet composed of Ciprian Dancu - clarinet, Cosmin Fidileș - violin, Irina Dancu - violin, Gabriel Silișteanu - viola and Titus Tincu - cello will perform two compositions written by Franz Krommer and, of course, W. A. ​​Mozart.

Born in Sibiu in 1979, the clarinetist Ciprian Dancu graduated from the Faculty of Music at the Transilvania University of Brașov in 2003. Starting in 2017, he was invited as a clarinet teacher at the ICON ARTS Transilvania Summer Academy. He is the "Leitner & Kraus" Artist, the famous clarinet factory in Neustadt, Germany. Since 2002 and until now he is Instrumental Soloist of the Sibiu State Philharmonic.

Cosmin Fidileș was born in 1977, in Botoșani, where he attended the "Ștefan Luchian" Art High School in the locality. He perfected his musical studies in the specialization Instrumental Interpretation at the "George Enescu" Academy of Arts in Iași. Since October 2000 he has been a violinist of the Sibiu State Philharmonic, currently holding the position of concertmaster.

Born in Bucharest, Irina Dancu began studying the violin at the age of six. She graduated from the "Dinu Lipatti" Music High School in 2000, then the courses of the Faculty of Music at the Transilvania University of Brașov, in 2005. She gained a rich professional experience being employed at the Brașov Opera, the Brașov Philharmonic, and from 2007 until present, of the Sibiu State Philharmonic. Starting with 2012, she is involved in educational activities for children through the "Learn with music" program, aiming at the musical development of the little ones.

Gabriel Silișteanu studied viola in Bucharest and graduated in 2010 from the National University of Music in Bucharest. He deepened his musical studies in Graz, Austria in the class of Professor Christian Euler and in Cluj with Professor Sorin Gherbanovschi. Gabriel Silișteanu has been working since 2016 as an "instrumental soloist - viola" at the Sibiu State Philharmonic.

Born on April 26, 1982, cellist Titus Tincu begins his musical journey at the Sigismund Toduța High School of Music in Cluj-Napoca. Then follows the in-depth studies at the National University of Music in Bucharest, in the class of master Marin Cazacu. He is currently the first cellist of the Sibiu State Philharmonic.

The next concert is scheduled for Thursday, January 28, 2021. The Philharmonic Orchestra will take the stage with conductor Cosmin Morariu and soloists Raluca Stratulat (violin) and Valentin Dimitrie Simion (cello).
