The concert for piano and orchestra - Ravel's masterpiece - is being sung in Sibiu

Monday, 8 February 2021 , ora 10.09

Almost 100 years after the premiere of the work, with Maurice Ravel at the conducting desk, "The Concerto for Piano and Orchestra in G major" will be performed in Sibiu on Thursday, February 4, at the "Brukenthal Music Station". The guests of the evening are conductor Radu Postavaru and pianist Csiky Boldizsar.

With over 1500 concerts performed in the country and abroad, conductor Radu Postăvaru promotes modern and contemporary music in his concerts, as well as young performers he has supported throughout his career. He is currently an associate professor at the National University of Music in Bucharest, the permanent conductor of the symphony orchestra of the "Paul Constantinescu" Philharmonic in Ploiești and a guest of some prestigious orchestras in the world.

University professor at the "Gheorghe Dima" Academy of Music in Cluj, Csíky Boldizsára gave concerts with all the symphony orchestras in Romania and made several recordings: CD, Radio and TV. He has been repeatedly invited as a member of the jury of international piano competitions, also holding master classes in the country and abroad.

Recognized as a master of orchestration and a meticulous craftsman, Maurice Ravel is one of the great creators of the modern era. The concert that the musicians will present on Thursday in Sibiu was performed in Paris in 1932, performed by the pianist Maguerite Long, with the composer Maurice Ravel at the conductor's desk.

Also included in the evening's program are "Symphony No. 1 in D major" by Charles Gounod and Paul Dukas - "La Peri" (Marching Band).

The event will take place with the presence of the public, within the limit of 30% of the capacity of the hall, respecting all the sanitary norms in force. Tickets for this concert are on sale online, on the iabilet.ro platform, and at the Thalia Hall Ticket Office. The price of a ticket is 40 and 30 lei.
