“The Sleeping Beauty” is broadcast online as a gift for Mărțișor

The National Opera from Bucharest will broadcast online the ballet show 'The Sleeping Beauty' by Pyotr Ilych Tchaikovsky on Monday, the 1st of March 2021, starting at 19:00. It will be broadcast with the occasion of celebrating the Day of Mărțișor.

The show will be broadcast exclusively online, and the tickets can be purchased from https://tickets.operanb.ro/. The record of the show will be available for viewing for 24 hours.

As a celebration of the Arrival of Spring, the first lyrical stage of the country welcomes the audience from everywhere with the story of one of the most beautiful classical ballet shows. 'The Sleeping Beauty' by Pyotr Ilych Tchaikovsky, directed and choreographed by Vasily Medvedev and Stanislav Feèo, is finely recreating the well-known tale which is based too on the contrast between the good and evil. And even after three centuries have passed this ballet show is still sparking the audience of all age's curiosity.

The practice of bringing in nowadays of some stories with timeless significance has become irresistible for the choregraphs all around the world. In the last few decades, 'The Sleeping Beauty' has met some significant changes of the libretto as well as of the chorographical vocabulary. Some of the modern variants have shown new faces of the story and music. As ithas been transposed as feature films, puppets shows, musicals or animations, the story of 'The Sleeping Beauty' continues to fascinate generations of children and grandparents.
