The topics of the five meetings of the music history course are:

1. Spring, the time of the Renaissance - At a time when all European culture has emerged from a medieval numbness, music is in a constant search for its own identity. The first printed scores appear, polyphony flourishes, secular music develops, coexisting in harmony with religious music. It is a time of new possibilities. Key names: Orlando di Lasso, Giovanni Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Tomás Luis de Victoria, John Dowland.

2. Summer, with the sun of the Baroque - A real turning point for Western music is produced by the appearance of the opera. Singers become the superstars of the times, the world revolves around them. At the same time, instrumental music is experiencing an unprecedented development, many of the genres and forms that we recognize today appear. Key names: Claudio Monteverdi, Antonio Vivaldi, Georg Friedrich Händel, Johann Sebastian Bach.

3. Autumn, the stability of Classicism - The Vienna of the 18th century is the living heart of the art of sounds. Everything he has received from the past and will propagate into the future goes through the sensitivity and skill of the composers who lived and worked here. Musical genres and forms are stabilized, the "classical" orchestra is defined. Key names: Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven.

4. Winter, the whirlwind of Romanticism - After a quiet period must follow a hectic one. The Creator begins to occupy the foreground, the feelings are conveyed more vividly and more clearly than ever. Everything changes, the operation takes on a new face, the music defines its shadows and lights that it never had, the tonality is pushed to its limits. Key names: Franz Schubert, Johannes Brahms, Richard Wagner, Giuseppe Verdi.

5. Season X (X), Modernism - A new beginning, in which "everything goes"… It is a time of experiment, in which the authors break the norms, imagine unheard things, look at unexplored realms, listen to the echoes of the past. I make music differently. Key names: Claude Debussy, Igor Stravinsky, Sergei Rahmaninov, Arnold Schönberg.
